EverCheck Wallet helps you keep track of your licenses, certifications, and registrations (LCRs). However, not all LCRs update in the same way. Some update automatically, while others require you to enter your renewal information. This article will help you understand the difference and how it affects you.
How Do My Credentials Update?
There are two main types of LCR updates in EverCheck Wallet:
Automatic Renewal Updates (No Action Needed From You in Wallet):
-
- If your LCR falls under this category, EverCheck does the work! We connect with the primary source (like the licensing board) and check your license status daily.
- When you renew your license with the licensing authority, the primary source updates their records. EverCheck then automatically pulls this updated information, including your new expiration date, and updates your LCR in EverCheck Wallet.
- How to know if you have this: You won't receive tasks in EverCheck Wallet to update these credentials after renewing with the licensing authority. You will receive an email reminder to update with the board. There is no option to update in your Wallet account.
-
- Your responsibility: Simply ensure you renew your LCR on time with the licensing authority.
-
Examples:
- RQI LCRs
- State board-issued licenses like RNs
Date-Tracked Updates (You Must Provide Renewal Information in Wallet):
- For certain LCRs, EverCheck cannot automatically verify the renewal. This often happens with credentials where you receive a physical card (like a BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification) or where the primary source doesn't provide easily accessible electronic verification.
- You are responsible for providing your renewal details to EverCheck Wallet in these cases.
- How to know if you have this: If your employer requires you to update your LCR details in EverCheck Wallet, you will receive an "Inbox" task on your Wallet homepage after you renew. Also, you will see an Update now button on this credential in your Wallet account.
- Your responsibility: When prompted, follow the instructions in EverCheck Wallet to enter your renewal information, such as your new expiration date.
-
Examples:
- AHA-issued LCRs that don't use the RQI program
- BLS certifications
- ACLS certifications
- PALS certifications
Important Reminder:
EverCheck Wallet is a tracking tool meant to help you track renewals and submit updates to your employer, not a renewal service. You must renew your LCR directly with the appropriate licensing board or authority.
