This article strictly pertains to those who maintain an NBRC credential and are trying to troubleshoot NBRC submission and verification. To add an NBRC credential in EverCheck Wallet, enter your license number or credential abbreviation (e.g., RRT, CRT). Verification requires an exact match of first name, last name, and date of birth between NBRC records and employer data. Name mismatches, especially last names, are common causes of failure. To fix, contact your HR to update records. If issues persist, contact NBRC to verify how your credential is listed and confirm your details match exactly.
How to Add Your NBRC Credential
When you add an NBRC credential in EverCheck Wallet, you'll be asked to enter a license number.
If you don't have a license number, enter your credential abbreviation instead. For example:
- RRT for Registered Respiratory Therapist
- CRT for Certified Respiratory Therapist
Once added, please allow 24-48 hours for verification.
Why Verification May Fail
To verify an NBRC credential, EverCheck Wallet needs an exact match on all three of the following:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
If any of these details don't match between the NBRC board's records and the information your employer has on file for you in EverCheck, verification will fail.
The most common cause is a last name mismatch. This happens when the last name your employer has on file doesn't match the last name listed with the board.
How to Fix a Name Mismatch
If you believe your last name doesn't match between the board and your employer's records:
- Reach out to your organization's internal HR team.
- Ask that they review the name discrepancy between what they have listed in our system, and what the NBRC's primary source verification website has listed for you.
- Your internal HR can submit any necessary request to EverCheck to complete verification using the name the board has listed for you.
Further Verification Troubleshooting
If you've confirmed that your employer has the correct first name, last name, and date of birth on file, but your NBRC credential still hasn't been verified:
- Contact the NBRC board directly.
- Ask how your credential is listed on their primary source verification website.
- Confirm your first name, last name, and date of birth match exactly as entered in EverCheck Wallet.
This helps identify whether the discrepancy exists on the board's side rather than your employer's records.
After You Submit Your Credential
Once you initially submit or upload your NBRC credential in EverCheck Wallet, you don't need to update it at renewal.
EverCheck automatically captures updated expiration dates for you going forward, and you can view these updates in the green Licenses tab in your EverCheck Wallet account.
